After coming one win short of making it to the Eastern Conference Finals last season, the New York Knicks were determined to improve their roster over the summer and were able to do just that by adding two more stars to an already talented squad led by superstar guard Jalen Brunson.

The Knicks have brought in stars Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns in two separate deals, which turned a lot of heads around the league, as many perceive these moves to be game-changers, propelling New York to title-contending status in the Eastern Conference.

Even though the Knicks are as stacked as any team in the league right now, the team doesn’t appear to be done making moves in order to contend with the best of the best in the East during the 2024-25 NBA season.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Knicks are targeting journeyman and sharpshooter Matt Ryan via New York Basketball.

With the team trading Donte DiVincenzo, arguably the team’s best outside shooter, to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the deal for Towns, New York will have a void to fill in that department.

Even though Ryan won’t be able to replace what DiVincenzo was able to provide in the shooting department, he would give the team another reliable shooter who might get a lot of open shots with so many star players on the field during the 2024-25 campaign.
